Abstract

This article will attempt to introduce one of the subfields in the political science which has largely remained unknown in Iran and will examine its possible contribution.
Policy sciences are responses to growing societal demands from politicians to deal more effectively with social, political, and
administrative difficulties. Political science, some argue, has lost touch with real-life issues by engaging in highly theoretical and abstract research with very little impact on public life.
The development of policy sciences as a sub-discipline in the political science has been some kind of a remedy. The growth of policy sciences in Iran, like other countries, will help political scientists to get involved in applied research of which Iran is in diar need.
