Abstract

Legitimacy is the justification of government and sovereignty. There are two completely different approaches to legitimacy: A) Theory of final legitimacy, and, B) Theory of agentitive or cotructionallegitimacy.
The Former was dominiting in moslems' mind from the rise of Islamic medieval civilization to the establishment of Islamic: modernity. But the latter (agentitive legitimacy) has often been
accused for its irrelevance to shi'ite Islam sources or texts.

This essay rejects this claim and insists on the relationship of shi'a texts - especially Iman AIi texts and actions - to agentitive .I contructional approach to legitimacy.
