It is because of the sudden increases in the Iranian publications
in political geography and geopolitics and because of the increasing importance of proper and adequate transfer of modern concepts of political geography and geopolitics in the Iranian academic world, SOllie of these concepts are being discussed in
this article. Here attempts one made to clarify the scope of each
of these concepts in order to prevent confusion in arguments and understanding them. Concepts dealt with in this article include the
followings: country, state, government, boundary and territory, democracy and election, Ummah, nation and identity, nationalism and patriotism, national interest, power, security, raison d'etre,
global order and international system, regional grouping and regional integration, unofficial imperialism, globalization and also such theories as the clash of civilizations and the end of history, and / or the new world order.
By assessing these concepts the article endeavors to assist Iranian studies of political geography and geopolitics to adopt an Iranian way of seeing the world of geopolitics compatible with the Iranian national interests so that the Iranians could bring the
